Wabi, an AI startup that previously allowed users to build applications using prompts, is shifting its focus toward a messaging-based experience. The company announced this week the launch of Wabi 2.0, a platform designed to function as an AI messenger that can generate custom interfaces to help users complete specific tasks.

AI app maker Wabi pivots to agentic messaging experience with Wabi 2.0
Founder Eugenia Kuyda described the new experience as a "personal agent that does stuff for you and builds the interface you need in the moment." Rather than focusing solely on "vibe-coding" tools, Wabi 2.0 aims to compete directly with AI agents that integrate conversation and productivity within a single interface.
The pivot addresses limitations in chat-only interfaces, where task histories can become difficult to navigate within a single scrolling stream. Under the new model, an agent could create specialized user interfaces on demand—such as a calorie tracker or a family calendar—to facilitate specific workflows.
Wabi 2.0 is currently available via invite-only access.
