Meta Unveils Muse Charm Keychain and Expanded Smart Glasses Lineup at Connect 2026

Meta announced "Muse Charm," a small, pendant-like device designed to fit on a keychain. The device is activated by a fingerprint sensor and features a screen displaying the Muse avatar. It supports real-time voice interactivity and is scheduled for release in December. Mark Zuckerberg described the Muse assistant—which provides autonomous bots for tasks such as booking travel or organizing finances—as the "centerpiece" of Meta’s AI vision. Meta plans to offer a free Muse tier, intending to generate profit through small transaction fees over time.

To address privacy concerns related to camera-equipped models, Meta introduced new audio-only smart glasses. These glasses feature six microphones but no camera, preventing the recording of surroundings. They are designed for music listening, phone calls, and verbal interaction with the Muse agent, which can respond to commands via voice. Additionally, Meta announced audio-only smart glasses specifically for the hearing impaired, offering amplification modes such as "focused" and "omnidirectional." This device has been in development for approximately five years and is expected to retail for $150.

In the virtual reality space, Meta announced new VR glasses expected to be available next spring for $1,300. The device is five times lighter than the previous Quest 3 model and is the company's first IMAX Enhanced certified VR device.
