Apple has introduced new AI-powered features to HomeKit Secure Video through Apple Intelligence, allowing compatible security cameras to provide text descriptions of detected activities. These AI-generated descriptions, such as "a dog sat on the floor," can be sent through the Apple Home app, providing immediate situational awareness before video feeds fully load.

The update also includes natural-language video search, which enables users to find specific events by typing queries, such as "When did the USPS truck come," into the Home app. Furthermore, Apple Intelligence can identify and stitch together related activities across multiple cameras into a single notification, a feature designed to reduce notification fatigue.
Access to these features requires an iCloud Plus subscription and an AI-capable iPhone running iOS 27, an Apple Home Hub running HomePod or tvOS 27, and HomeKit Secure Video-compatible hardware. Apple Intelligence is supported through three iCloud Plus tiers: $10 per month for one camera, $30 for two, and $60 for up to five cameras.
