Google has announced an "early experiment" feature for the Pixel 11 that enables users to delegate phone calls to Gemini. The AI can handle entire conversations with local businesses, such as making reservations, checking product availability, or rescheduling appointments.

According to Google, users do not need to initiate the call themselves. By using the Gemini app, users can instruct the AI to call on their behalf. Gemini is designed to introduce itself, navigate automated phone menus, wait on hold, and conduct the conversation. Users maintain control through a live transcript view and can take over the call at any time.
This feature evolves from a similar "Call for me" capability announced last year, which could check for product stock but lacked the option for users to intervene during the call.
The feature is currently rolling out in the United States as an early preview for Gemini paid subscribers enrolled in the Phone by Google Public Beta on Pixel 11.
