At the 18th BRICS Summit held in India, Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed 5 initiatives to strengthen the development of BRICS and cooperation with the Global South.
One of these, the "Initiative on AI Open Source and Popularization," states that China will take the lead in establishing AI special zones for BRICS countries. Through this initiative, China aims to support cooperation in the development and application of Large Language Models (LLMs), as well as to build an open AI ecosystem by conducting specialized AI training and education.
President Xi also emphasized the importance of cooperation in digital industries, smart manufacturing, and scientific and technological talent development. Specifically, his proposals include promoting the construction of digital industry cloud platforms, establishing alliances aimed at training engineers in BRICS countries, and the mutual recognition of qualifications.
