On September 9, Thibaut Soultiao, Product Lead at OpenAI, suggested via a post on X that it may become difficult to maintain the current level of service for the ChatGPT Pro plan due to the expanding demand for the new "GPT-6 Astra" model released on the 3rd.

Regarding the current increase in demand, Soultiao stated, "I have never seen a situation like this before," and expressed the view that they might have to temporarily suspend new Pro subscriptions if this situation continues.

ChatGPT currently offers five plans: a free plan, as well as "Go," "Plus," "Pro," "Pro (5x)," and "Pro (20x)." Since the Pro plan provides early access to Astra along with benefits such as the use of inference mode and expanded model usage limits, it is believed that the number of subscribers has increased following the release of Astra.
