Box has announced the expansion of its partnership with OpenAI to provide an integration that allows business content stored in Box to be securely utilized within ChatGPT. This integration enables users to access files in Box, search for information, generate insights, and create content directly from ChatGPT without having to switch between applications.

Through Box's capabilities, users can browse, search, and select content by navigating Box's folder structure within ChatGPT, and can also edit Box Notes directly. Furthermore, the ability to securely reference and update content via Box's MCP server enables the realization of advanced workflows.

Regarding content management and security, the enterprise-grade governance and access permissions provided by Box are maintained. This allows companies to implement content-driven operations using ChatGPT without compromising existing management frameworks. This feature is available generally for Box customers starting today and is scheduled to be rolled out sequentially to ChatGPT paid plan users within a few days.
