On September 10 (local time), OpenAI announced "Data agent," a new feature for ChatGPT Work. This functionality allows users to provide instructions and adjustments for analyzing internal data through chat interactions and enables the construction of interactive dashboards.
Connectable data sources include Amazon Redshift, Datadog, Google BigQuery, and Snowflake. Additionally, files and documents within Google Drive and SharePoint can be integrated into the analysis. During analysis, the agent reads and interprets organization-specific business terms, metric definitions, and formulas from semantic layers such as dbt and Snowflake Horizon.
Created dashboards can also be developed and operated within existing BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and ThoughtSpot. Furthermore, the agent can suggest next steps based on analysis results, share findings via Slack or email, and execute approved tasks.
OpenAI stated that companies such as NTT DATA are currently utilizing this feature through an alpha program for tasks such as analyzing revenue and expenditures and detecting reporting errors.
