Google has released the Gemini desktop app for Windows 10 and later (x64 and ARM64) as well as MacBooks equipped with Apple silicon. This follows the release of the macOS version in April 2026.

On the Windows version, pressing Alt+Space allows users to instantly summon Gemini over their current workspace. This shortcut key can be customized in the settings. The app can also be launched via icons in the taskbar or system tray.

Through the desktop app, users can integrate information from Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, and Calendar directly into their workflow, enabling operations such as detailed searches within email threads and summarization of shared documents. Note that features such as context processing via screen sharing, voice operations, and summarizing file contents into Google Docs are currently only available in the macOS version and are planned to be rolled out to Windows sequentially.
