On September 3, Cloudflare announced "Vulnerability Discovery and Remediation," an automated security service developed in collaboration with OpenAI's Daybreak Defense Network. The service uses OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Cyber model to scan customers' codebases and live network traffic to detect exploitable vulnerabilities. Once detected, it automatically generates firewall rules and code patches, subject to verification by human security teams. Early access is currently available to selected enterprise customers.
Following the announcement, Cloudflare's stock rose 10% on September 9, closing at $314. Thomas Seifert, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Cloudflare, stated that this security enhancement is part of an architectural strategy to support the low latency and secure sandboxes required by agentic AI workflows. Additionally, he indicated an outlook to raise long-term growth targets from the previous 40% to 50%.
