On 2026-07-19, Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs released a joint policy regarding bioresilience. The policy consists of two primary pillars: preventing the misuse of AI models and enabling governments, researchers, and biosecurity experts to leverage AI technology to build a more resilient society.

Over the past 12 months, they have promoted more than 15 partnerships with government agencies, biosecurity organizations, and research groups, aiming to prevent model misuse, ensure early detection of new infectious diseases, and facilitate rapid response. Specifically, they stated that technologies such as AlphaFold, which has solved the tertiary structures of nearly all known proteins; IsoDDE, an AI-driven drug discovery engine; and AlphaGenome, which contributes to elucidating genomic functions, will be utilized to accelerate the design of active defenses and the discovery of treatments for infectious diseases.

Furthermore, they indicated a policy to provide AI models and agents, including Gemini, to trusted partners to provide support across the three domains of prevention, detection, and response.
