At the Hitachi Social Innovation Forum 2026 JAPAN, Hitachi CEO Goldwick emphasized the importance of "Physical AI," where AI expands from digital space into physical space.
The company is advancing AI-driven process control and optimization in fields involving physical tasks, such as manufacturing sites. Through these efforts, Hitachi aims to redefine the nature of industry.
Hitachi is utilizing NVIDIA's "Omniverse" to implement simulation technologies that replicate physical environments digitally. This approach aims to improve the efficiency of prototyping and verification on-site.
Furthermore, regarding the company's digital service "Lumada," there are plans to evolve it into "Lumada 3.0" by 2025. The company stated that by integrating AI, it will accelerate value creation through data utilization.
Currently, the company has secured 80 AI specialists in the IT field and 116 in the OT (Operational Technology) field. The company plans to continue the development and recruitment of further specialized talent.
