U.S. semiconductor giant NVIDIA announced on the 10th a plan to expand data center computing capacity in Australia. The company stated that it aims to more than double current capacities through partnerships with local firms.

Partners include cloud and data center companies such as Pharmas, CDC, NEXTDC, and AirTrunk. Through these collaborations, NVIDIA aims to develop up to 2 gigawatts of capacity for artificial intelligence (AI) by 2027. According to a report by the industry group "Data Centres Australia," the current computing capacity is 1.6 gigawatts.

NVIDIA explained that this expansion is intended to meet the demand for AI in Australia. The partner data centers are expected to be built using the company's "DSX platform."
