Mod feature added to Claude Code, allowing customization of behavior and UI using TypeScript

A Mod feature has been added to Anthropic's AI coding agent, "Claude Code," allowing users to customize its behavior and user interface (UI) to their preferences.

Mods can be written in TypeScript, and you can even ask Claude Code itself to create them for you. Once created, mods are distributed as plugins and can be installed via the CLI (Command Line Interface) or the desktop app using the /plugin command.

With this Mod feature, it is possible to create modules that monitor all events generated by Claude Code in real time. This allows for the rendering of custom buttons and UI elements. The scope of a mod's operation extends to both the CLI and desktop versions.

As examples of operation, Anthropic has released "Blast Radius," which lists the files affected when executing high-risk commands, and "Replay Theater," which records the history of file operation changes and displays the diffs. Additionally, users can register their created mods to the plugin directory for wide public release.
