Google DeepMind and Isomorphic Labs have announced a joint policy to enhance bioresilience through AI.
Over the past 12 months, the two companies have established more than 15 partnerships with government agencies and research groups. Through these collaborations, they are promoting the prevention of model misuse and the early detection and response to emerging diseases.
To ensure safety, a four-stage safety process has been implemented for models such as Gemini. Additionally, they are advancing the application of SynthID watermarking technology to biology, aiming to support the screening of AI-generated biological sequences.
They are also working to reduce the cost of pathogen surveillance. By using the agent AlphaEvolve to optimize metagenomic analysis algorithms, they are achieving faster and more affordable DNA analysis.
